ANA The Room

A business class seat so wide it reads as a first class typo.

The Room is ANA's flagship business class on the Boeing 777-300ER: alternating forward and rear-facing suites nearly twice the width of a standard business seat, with full-height sliding doors, 24-inch 4K monitors and kaiseki-grade Japanese dining. Negotiated fares typically run $3,500-$6,000 round-trip across the Pacific against $6,500-$12,000 published.

Inside the cabin

What makes ANA The Room worth chasing

When The Room debuted in 2019 it reset expectations for the entire industry: a business seat wide enough to double as a sofa for two, doors tall enough for real privacy, and ANA's famously precise omotenashi service layered on top.

It flies on ANA's 777-300ERs from Tokyo Haneda to New York, London, San Francisco and Los Angeles among others. ANA's 787 routes carry the older staggered cabin, still excellent, but not The Room, so aircraft verification matters.

How we book it for less

The negotiated-fare angle

Japanese carriers almost never discount publicly; their premium inventory moves through negotiated channels, which is precisely where we operate. Our advisors also quote JAL's A350 suites and US carriers on the same corridor so The Room has to win on price, not just reputation.

Travelers, in their own words

What people who flew ANA The Room actually say

The Room's case comes down to space and the bed:

I think ANA the room is perfect because I like firm sleep surfaces and sleep curled up.

Even a JAL loyalist on the JFK to Haneda corridor concedes the seat battle is close:

Hard product and service are a push.

And the price-aware counterview when JAL quotes higher:

JAL on the [A350] is much better, but not $2k worth better.

Answers, upfront

ANA The Room, answered

Which ANA routes have The Room?

777-300ER services from Tokyo Haneda, including New York, London, San Francisco and Los Angeles. 787 routes carry ANA's older business cabin. We confirm the equipment on every quote.

Is ANA The Room better than first class?

It outclasses many airlines' first cabins on space and privacy, which is why ANA positions its actual first class, The Suite, with 43-inch screens above it. For most travelers The Room makes first class unnecessary.
