Cathay Pacific business class review

Cathay Pacific's new Aria Suite, doors, 4K screens, warm timber tones, headlines the airline's resurgence, backed by Hong Kong's Pier and Wing lounges, still two of the finest in aviation.

The verdict

Inside Aria Suite

The Aria Suite retrofit brings Cathay firmly back to the front rank: privacy doors, wireless charging and a design language closer to a boutique hotel than an aircraft cabin. The classic reverse-herringbone it replaces remains comfortable on non-retrofitted 777s and A350s.

Cathay's Pier First lounge, with its day suites and noodle bar, is reason enough to route via Hong Kong. Negotiated fares between North America and Southeast Asia via HKG are frequently the sharpest in the market.

  • New Aria Suite with doors and 4K screens
  • The Pier & The Wing lounges in Hong Kong
  • Excellent one-stop fares between the Americas and Southeast Asia
